Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and conveyed his condolences for the loss of lives after the bombing of the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza. The Palestinian authorities and Hamas terrorists have blamed Israel for the bombing, which has been striking the Gaza Strip for days now. The Israeli Defence Forces has denied this allegation and shared "proof" that the rocket that hit the hospital was of Islamic Jihadists.
The United States and President Joe Biden have confirmed that their intel provides no evidence that Israel was responsible for the attack.
The bombing of the Gaza hospital killed hundreds of citizens, mostly children and women, who took shelter after Israel started bombing the Hamas terrorist's hideouts. Protests have broken out in the Arab countries after the blast in the hospital and many have accused Israel of it.
The Indian Prime Minister has expressed his sadness and conveyed his condolences before in his post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Health authorities in Hamas terrorists administered Gaza have claimed that the casualties ranged between 200 to 300 people.
Some reports also claim that around 500 people are dead after the blast.
"Spoke to the President of the Palestinian Authority H.E. Mahmoud Abbas. Conveyed my condolences at the loss of civilian lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. We will continue to send humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. Shared our deep concern at the terrorism, violence and deteriorating security situation in the region. Reiterated India's long-standing principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue," PM Modi posted on X, formerly Twitter, today.
This was the second post from the Indian PM in support of the Palestinian civilians. Earlier said he was shocked to hear the civilian casualties in Gaza.
This time, in a social media post on Tuesday, PM Modi said he was "deeply shocked" by the deaths in the attack and extended his condolences to the families of those killed.
Israel has blamed a Palestinian group for the attack, questioning everything from evidence of deaths, bomb craters and images from the demolished hospital. Israel's ally US has said its initial findings indicate that Israel is not responsible for the bomb attack.
Western Countries including the US and UK have announced aid of millions of dollars to Gaza and Israel has also allowed aid through Egypt.
