Class 11th Final Term Maths Test
It was a few days ago when my class teacher announced that the following week class tests will be conducted. It did not caught us out of blue as we had already expected it, but the thing that surprised us was the syllabus and schedule for the test. We had no breaks between the tests since the school decided to conduct all the tests in a single week. Somedays we had to prepare for two subjects.
The syllabus was so vast that it was almost impossible to cover in a few days. All the main subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Maths had 2 chapters and these were the chapters that I had never even read before. There was a chapters in Maths called Limits and Derivatives, which I was hearing about for the first time. When I first opened my Maths book and looked at the chapter, it almost panicked me. There were all types of new symbols and strange equations which I had no idea how to solve. I decided it would be a waste of time to understand this completely new chapter all by myself, so I went to Youtube and typed in the search box "Limits and Derivatives Class 11 Maths". Upon clicking enter, my screen was filled with videos of various teachers explaining the chapter. I decided to go with the top video that appeared which was about six hours long. It helped me a lot and I was able to understand the basics of the chapter in less than thirty minutes but I still decided to continue watching till the time stamp in the video indicated that more than two hours had been passed. By now, I had a decent idea of what Limits are and how to use them. After that I opened my textbook and started solving the exercises. There were few new formulas in the textbook which were not included or may be included a little bit ahead in the video I watched to learn the basics.
After that, I decided to learn Derivatives from the book, so directly solving questions was the most efficient way I could think of. By the time I completed all the questions related to the first principal, it was already very late so I quickly learned the standard Derivatives results which were used in the last exercise. I quickly then revised Quadratic Equations and solved some random questions from the exercises.
In the test the first question came from Quadratic Equations chapters and the first question came out to be rather difficult for me to solve. So I headed to the second question which was also from Quadratic. The questions following them were easy and the last 2 questions were of Derivatives. They were simple and the answer which I got was an intrger, so it was most probably correct. When the last 10 minutes remained, I decided to give the first question another try, and I was able to make some progress and got an answer, but after the test I got to know that it was incorrect.
Tests are conducted to know about the progress of the student and I was able to secure good marks though it was not full marks. It only motivates me to push myself a little more and secure more marks next time.
